Exploring Synergy: Bridging Urgent Care And Tourism

As the chapter of Egypt & MENA region of Urgent Care Association, we are thrilled to announce that we have held our first conference in the region Successfully. It was held in Conrad Hotel in Cairo. The Conference main title was: Innovation and Investment in Urgent Care. it was attended by more than 100 participants who were engaged effectively all the time during very fruitful discussions which were led by very well-known public and professional figures.

After The opening, the conference went through three main sessions. The First Session was designed to give a comprehensive overview of Urgent Care and Urgent Care Association main functions .It was started by an introductory talk and presentation done by the Chief Executive Officer at the Urgent Care Association (UCA); Lou Ellen Horwitz, followed by a thorough Panel discussion about what is exactly meant by urgent care and the difference between urgent care and emergency care. then we went through the scope, functions and benefits of UCA.

During the Second Session, the discussions were focused mainly on two main Dimensions ; First: was the impact of implementing urgent care concept and services Generally on the overall quality of healthcare performance and specifically on improving patient experience, Second: was about exploring synergy between urgent care and tourism. Among our Respectful panelists, this panel was attended by the Secretary General of Egyptian Medical Syndicate and also by the Head Of The Egyptian Nursing Syndicate as well.

The Third Session was focused on the art of cost- efficient design of urgent care. the discussions were connecting Urgent care concept, value-based healthcare, financial design and healthcare governance. Among our panelists, this panel was attended by IFC representative and also by the COO of Elevate Fund (one of the most important healthcare funds in North Africa).

Also, through conference we had very important prerecorded talks by Alan Ayres, international expert in urgent care, Gregory Schwaid, Occupational & Preventive medicine physician leader, Ahmed Amer, international expert in healthcare insurance.
